Volunteers and Docents allow Ranger Russ to supplement the limited state funding and staffing available to the Nature Center.
Do you love visiting the Meigs Point Nature Center and wish you could become more involved? Consider volunteering with us! We are always looking for enthusiastic and eager individuals who love animals and appreciate the environment. Help us spread our message, consider volunteering today.
Volunteers (Ages 13-18): Perfect for school community service requirements, boosting in-field experience for resumes, and for those interested in pursuing a future career in environmental science.
Volunteer/Docent Duties: Our volunteers can choose the activities that interest them the most. Duties include animal care (such as feeding/watering animals, cleaning exhibits, etc.), assisting with public programs (joining us on school field trips and assisting with activities such as beach seining and canoe trips in the summer), and greeting (welcoming the public to the nature center and answering any questions they may have). We are always looking for ways to incorporate your knowledge and hope that you learn a lot in your time here with us too.
Thank you so much for your interest in helping the nature center and we hope to see you soon!
