- Fox – member of the dog family; there are Red and Grey foxes in Connecticut.
- Skulk – a group of foxes (males are dogs, females are vixens, and a baby can be called a cub, pup or kit).
- Vector – an animal that readily carries a disease and passes to another, e.g., a fox, skunk and raccoon can carry rabies.
